Bite Sized Goals for a Big Appetite (+My personal goals)

I have a huge appetite for a big life…but to get there I have to face all the little goals I have to accomplish to get there. Planning what I am going to do is a huge and overwhelming task in and of itself at times.

BUT, we are not going to let that stop us. I am going to show you how I like to break down my goals…by….breaking down my goals here on the blog. With that being said…let’s get started.

Step 1: What Even Are Your Goals?

The first step into breaking down your goals is…knowing what they are. Having a general direction is great. For example: I want to be healthy. That’s a great start. But to make it more attainable, we want a measurable and tangible goal. An example is: I want to be able to run a mile in under 8 minutes by December 1. This a a great way to measure what you think being healthy entails.

Now that we have that established, here are my top three goals:

  1. By February 23, 2020 I want to be 150lbs.
  2. By November 11, 2019 I want to get my A1C (A measurement of average blood sugars for Type One diabetes) down to 7-8 range.
  3. I want to own and completely renovate a van in 2020.

I have a time range/date and the end goal in mind. That’s the end of Step 1. Easy enough.

Step 2: Make a “Vague” To-do List for Each Goal:

Goal 1: By February 23, 2020 I want to be 150lbs:

  1. Figure out calorie deficit
  2. Meal Prep
  3. Create Workout Plan
  4. Track Food and Exercise
  5. Cut Out Fast Foods and “Fast Carbs”
  6. Don’t drink my calories (Cut out sugary drinks…smoothies are cool! 🙂
  7. Break down into little dates

Goal 2: By November 11, 2019 I want to get my A1C (A measurement of average blood sugars for Type One diabetes) down to 7-8 range.

  1. Get sensor.
  2. Track bloog sugars.
  3. Test before each meal and bed.
  4. Fast acting insulin BEFORE you eat.
  5. Tujeo 30 units before bed.

Goal Three: I want to own and completely renovate a van in 2020.

  1. Get Loan.
  2. Research vans.
  3. Buy van.
  4. Get supplies.
  5. Research renovations.
  6. Bribe Dad to help me.
  7. The build.

Step 3: Break Down To-Do List into Specific Steps & Make a Schedule:

Okay, so this would be a very long blog if I did all my goals on here so I will just break down Goal 1: By February 23, 2020 I want to be 150lbs.

That is all for today you guys! I hope this is useful to some of you…I know it helped me out a lot when I discovered a way to manage my goals instead of just throwing myself into it. I will see you all Monday for a very special “Happy Birthday for Dad!”

  1. Bitesize goals… Lovin it. If you shoot for the moon but only reach the stars… Maybe that will still be a big enough life for you. ☺
Little course corrections all along the way when you get off track might help you too.
