If you are anything like me…the idea of meal prepping can be overwhelming…and you don’t even know where to begin. If you want all the nitty gritty details of “How to Meal Prep” click the link to an awesome blog that goes into everything from which containers to buy to when to schedule your meal prep.
I, however, am more interested in informing you that meal prepping can be for everyone! Not just the extremely organized or the insanely health conscious. I am a messy, unorganized human…who has found meal prepping wonderfully helpful! If you want to see exactly what I did this week here is my blog I posted a little earlier: My Meal Prep!
Before I started on the whole food prepping train…I thought there was only one right way to do it…but that is not true at all. Meal prepping is whatever you want and need it to be. You can prep all your meals, just breakfasts, or even just parts of meals to make your day in the kitchen a little faster.
I personally prefer to cook “parts of meals”. That way I am not stuck to my little pre-picked meals…I have options. But that also means I don’t have to take an hour for each meal…more like 15 minutes to just throw everything together.
For example: pre-cooking quinoa, sweet potatoes, and tofu, chopping up veggies, and slicing up fruit…at the beginning of the week…saves you all that time and makes it easy to throw things together during the week.
You can also just prepare snacks…so when you are insanely hungry you have healthy treats to grab easily and are less drawn to the salty chips in the cupboard.
Why should you meal prep? Like I said…saves you time during the week, saves you money (prevents out to eat meals), and you know EVERY ingredient in your meals. No more eating long lists of things you can’t pronounce off the the ingredient list.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what can be done in your kitchen…if you are interested in more detailed blogs about the topic, let me know down in the comments below!
But that is all for today you guys! See you Wednesday!
